For dominican players of that generation, albert pooles is there. They came up playing baseball, admiring him the way kids of the nineties admired michael jordan. And a lot of them look up to him, not just as a roal model, but they see him as somebody they could talk to and confide in. I honestly think he's been a very welcome distraction.
