What Are the Different Types of Commission Models?
The vast majority, I estimate 99% of advice firms in Ireland don't generate any revenue from chatting with you or telling you what you should do unless they sell you a product. And until that changes, I don't see how the service, motive or reality can or will change. So there's upfront merchant versus trail builders. Commission based advisors tend to but don't always belong in one of those camps.
