It was the regional command centre for measuringrad ation that would have been emitted in the event of a nuclear bomb being dropped on the u.k. And then i think they had something like 64 smaller bunkers across yorkshire. Each one would have been inhabited by two people who would have measured the radiation and then reported it back to the central command. They would have jotted it on a map and seen where was safe and where wasn't safe. I mean, it's all a bit mad, isn't it? Ye.
