Trial records don't survive, but we do have an account by roger north. We have a letter from his brother, who was one of the judges in the court. And essentially, we tend to think of trials like modern trials. But when you look at the assized papers in essex, they were taking 20, 30 cases a day. So some of these trials for witchcraft could conceivably have been heard in under half an hour.
