Neurosurgery - What Did You Struggle With?
When you go through medical school, there are two main things at the beginning: surgery versus no surgery. For me, I obviously liked the surgical things, but I also liked areas like OB, OB-GYN. Do you like working with the elderly? What a geriatric patient population would be good? Do you like psychiatry? So there are different areas that you should think about. And so I think when you go through and remember areas in your basic science years, your first years in med school, did you like the physiology? Did you like the pharmacology? What areas did you really like?"
