The Four Great Inventions, or Sita Fami

Dr. Needham is considered hands down, the greatest western scholar of the history of scientific development in China. The term for great inventions is designated by Dr. Needham where the discovery of the compass, gunpowder, paper, and printing are included. These suda faming, suda means four, daat means great, and invention is faming. They were and remain a source of great pride for many Chinese.
