California Legislature Vote to Delay Pandemic Eviction Protections for Tenants Still Waiting on Rent Relief

The state assembly has voted to extend pandemic eviction protections for tenants still waiting on rent relief. Fewer than half of the nearly 500 thousand people who have applied for rental assistance have yet to receive a payout. The bill now heads to the state senate for a vote before it can be signed by the governor. Cacites aran baldisari reports, currently, tenants who are still waiting on payments could be evicted as early as april first.
