Is There Any Natural Explanation for This?

In leviticus, chapter 12 to day. It talked about a woman being unclean after giving birth. And that's one of the things can puzzle some people. So unclean does not mean immoral. Like unclean doesn't mean bad. It simply is. The states of being clean and unclean in the old testament among the jewish people has not a moral state. They are just states of ritual cleanness.
