George lewis was found guilty of first degree murder and sexual assault. After 13 hours of deliberation, the jury commended life in prison to the judge. The defence filed a motion almost immediately, saying george didn't get a fair trial because of all these various and sundry mistakes that the judge made. And as a result, they say that the verdict should be overturned. There were appeals with no success until recently when thomas french's 19 88 series for the tampabay times took on the case.
