Hurricanes and the Search for Victims
More than a week after Hurricane Ian made landfall, rescue crews are still going door to door in search of victims. At least 127 people have been killed while hundreds of thousands have had their lives changed forever by the storm. More than 100,000 customers are still without electricity, and for some it could be at least a month before power is fully restored. In a rebuke to Vladimir Putin's war on Ukraine, this year's Nobel Peace Prize is being shared among three champions of human rights, democracy, and peaceful coexistence.
