Van Dyek says he's been surprised at the level of spending that Chelsea have put into their squad in January. He doesn't think Arsenal were entirely unprecedented in its fee for Michaela Mudrick but some incentives and clauses were a bit more fanciful. Van Dyek also thinks ZH deal falling through has not made us any friends as we've taken our afterborn away from Stamford Bridge. The former England international is looking forward to playing with his new team-mates this season, despite having an awful lot to prove.
