The Black Panther's Legacy Lives On
In 19 69, aquia and jerry jumped on top of her fiance, shielding him from any bullets. The government's repugnance for the black panther party was deeply rooted in what they feared the most - black militancy. Conservatives fully backed gun control when it was black men and women toting rifles. And they figured the only way to shut down the party was to kill its leader. But jury isn't alone. Many other black panthers are still here, still alive and still fighting. What does black liberation look like to you? Self determination, self definition, the ability to define phenomena in our community and have that phenomena act in a way that works in our favor.
