Caesar's Image in Rome

Shakespeare's play is set in a rome where there are omens and entrails. Many of the characters refer to themselves in the third person, as if they're thinking about managing their image. And that's what caesar does here - he's so careful about his image. He was just this master manipulator who would be able to change his demeanour depending on whom he was talking to. It seems like it is in his will. So what's oof the role of fate, of human agency? Is shakespeare doing something with that here?
