The Commitment That Not Just Universities, but People of Good Will Should Have
i think what we're mostly seeing is the polarization out there working its way om inside, causes universities, intensifying tendencies that were already present. The basic commitment is um to following ther ment where it leads, but i don't think it necessarily requires a sort of robust, noble im commitment. It means reading old books as well as new ones, because part of our narrowness is the narrowness of time. But overcomingNarrowness is not just a philosophical virtue. It's a virtue that one needs in order to making consequential errors.
