Sherlock holmes and his friend, the bank director Mr merriweather, set out to meet John clay. The pair had not seen each other in years but were eager to see him again. They took two cabs as they made their way through London's crowded streets. It was a long journey from central London to farrington Street where john clay lived with his family. After an hour or so of walking sherlock decided that it was time for them to go home. He said he would rather have his bracelets onjohn clay than any criminal in london.
