Environmental Law and the Concept of Wilderness

There's a growing recognition of interdependence and the ways in which people can affect each other through their treatment of the environment. The environmental advocacy movement has been driven both by communities saying we deserve the right to clean air and healthy water, but also environmental is saying we need to protect wilderness. And we do, but defining wilderness by the absence of people is where I get a little bit nervous.
