It was written by an exiled french aristocrat who had become friends with key indigenous thinkers in new france. The author says it's actually the voice of the indigenous critic that you find across multiple different accounts from that period. But don't you think this is a little bit dangerous? I mean we're just a few decades before the french revolution here.
