The peasant's revolt is the triggerst ax, but it's actually the complex implementation of a dramatic increase in government intervention. This was clearly a tumultuous time when it felt thike the structure of society was slippery and unstable. Another huge shift that often laid at the door of the black death was the collapse of the feudal system. For example, you can't just get married to whoever you want when you want. You have to seek your lord's permission. If you have a son who wants to inherit, when you die, there is a certain payment that has to be made.
