The Importance of Faith

Some people take that verse to be, yeah, yeah, faith is this kind of thing. It's a blind thing. We can't see what we're believing in. So then how does that fit with a passage like Hebrews 11 one? Well, I mean, you know, the way people read that verse is that it is somehow that the words hoped for and not seen mean to the author of Hebrews that he doesn't have any good reason for trusting in those things. He has literally just spent 10 chapters laying out in great detail his reasons for thinking Jesus is reliable.
