The Politics of Digital Currency Registration

There's no political support for centrally controlled digital currency, a CBDC. But on the other hand, there isn't any political support for a freely circulating digital currency either. So we're in this interesting gray zone where there's a massive fight between the establishment that wants to control the monetary system and forces of technology which want money to move at the speed of light. I think that the US is going to clearly be the political actor here.
