The History of the MPDAA

The Motion Picture Producers and Distributors of America was founded in 1922. Its goal was to put a more respectable face on the Hollywood industry. The MPPDA used complaints they'd gathered from local censoring boards as a guide. But by the 1960s, some studios began to overstep or even outright ignore them.
