The Origins of the Bulgarian Revolution
The plane used by Bulgaria's former communist dictator Todor Zhivkov has been sunk in the Black Sea. Authorities say the craft will become an artificial reef and refuge for many sea species. Bulgarians often compared themselves to Yugoslavia, but they felt that they lived in a much more repressive system. The way that people expressed their dissent in Bulgaria was by illegally trading records or cassette tapes of heavy metal music.
