Drug Control - Afghanistan's Drug Problem
How should foreign countries and n gos be considering the drug trade in the context of allocating humanitarian aid for afghanistan? Yes, that's a difficult question. There there are never easy answers when it comes to to drug control. Sometimes the best that can be done is just not to make things worse. The international community should be prepared to lift sanctions if the taloman moderates its policies but there's no sign of that happening. As long as these sorts of policies continue, it's hard to see countries such as the us agreeing to lift u.N. Sanctions. And until that happens, afghanistan will remain isolated and impoverished.
