The Root Causes of Crime in the United States

Despite the decline of crime in recent decades, the united states remains an extraordinarily violent place. Almost 13 thousand 500 peoplewere murdered in 20 15, of which more than half were african American. Black men in the united states face el salvador level murder rates. There are a hundred and 20 guns for every hundred residents in america. The presence of massive amounts of guns explains the united statess violence viz v the rest of the world but it doesn't explain the fluctuations of violence within the united states. To understand the reasons for the rise in violence to exceptional levels, one has to understand certain exceptional facts about american economic development.
