How Does the Process Work?
Every case is really individual and that sounds a little bit, you know, flippant to say, but actually it's really true. The patient needs to be the one to make the wish. Nobody else can ask for this on their behalf. They need to have what we call a grievous and irimediable condition and be suffering tolerably. There are approximately eight or nine things that need to be found to be true. And if all of that has happened, then it's a matter of empowering the patient and saying to them, you are eligible. That doesn't mean you're going to have an assisted death or that you must, but that you may in itself
