Border Control - The Politics Behind the Border Wall
If Trump's border wall had been constructed as planned, the La Lomita Chapel would have ended up on the south side of the wall. This is Chilra Makarami, an anthropologist and researcher at the National Center for Scientific Research in Paris. She has worked extensively on French zon d'attôg, so-called waiting zones used to hold foreigners who have arrived at international ports but are not granted entry into France. Waiting zones sit on French territory, but those held within them are not afforded the rights and protections that the law grants to French citizens.
