It's nearly impossible for people in their twenties and thirties to buy a home, especially in big cities like bejing and shang. Owning a home is very different from owning a home here. If you're renting, you're almost kind of looked down upon in eastern societies. The majority of china still operates with the bride price, which translates as 'wedding gold' or 'bride money', depending on socio-economic standing.
