APL Versus Q, Is There a Primitive in APL?
APL versus Q is interesting because those languages are actually pretty different. In Sharp APL in particular, there's no primitive that will give you the data type of something. There was an attempt to handle a lot more special and degenerative cases in APL. As objects got smaller or bigger, the boundary conditions were very predictable.
