The Railways and the Great Train Robbery

There was a tradition of crime along with the railways that it was just too kind of enticing for the criminal fraternity to see all this valuable stuff transported on the railways. There were lots of famous kind of hold-ups of trains in very remote places and of course this continued right until the 1960s. The great British train robbery that about which films have been made where they stole more than a million pounds in used backnotes are about to be destroyed.
