The Story of the Castle
The story of the castle is actually quite weird, because i thinkthat it's a story of rapid castle building until the early twelfth century. And then from the early tw 12th century there has been a steady decline in the number of castles in britain. What happens at the civil war is that these last great survivors, these massive buildings that were often agglomerations of estates, or had been redeveloped on a really monumental scale over long periods of time,. those that suddenly fail.
