The Temple's Dark Side

In 1974, the temple chose Guyana, a poor, South American country recently free of British colonial rule. The article attacked Jones's claims of divinity and openly criticized what Kin solving saw as suspect financial dealings. Eight young members fled the temple together under fear that Jones would refuse to let them leave. It seemed that the people's temple and its perfect communal ideals was starting to crumble.
