What's the Reaction of the Authorities in the Ching Dynasty?

It's about 15 years long. Yeyou've got these two foreign invasions, the two opium wars, basically book ending the whole thing. And in each of those wars against a foreign enemy, even on the ching dynasty's side, you're looking at several thousand people lost total. Now not all of them are combatants. A lot of them are innocent civilians who just got t get caught up in the oftentimes governmental response and crack down to the goings on of the a god following society.
