How to Design a Full Screen Interstitial

A common design pattern you see is a full screen interstitial that tells you to swipe to go to the next thing. A lot of times there are arrows associated with which direction you should swipe. Should your arrows point to the left or to the right? If they point to the right, the user is likely to swipe from left to right in the direction of the arrows rather than in the direction the arrows are pointing.
