Half of em, or more, were in the first book. They were all like indani chapters from a game of thrones. There really are basilisks and ye t, just as there are manticors and shadow binders elsewhre n the world. Dan even goes on to see a bassk fight in carth in a clash of kings. It's real, but its magical and supernatural elements are, and at leasta some point were real, if they aren't any more.
