Teaching Children How to Read

I remember one of my very favorite teaching moments. I had a student called Joyce, this was years ago so maybe my first or second year of time and she'd be a teenager now. She came in not knowing how to read found something that she really found enthusiastic. And then I transferred the gift of actually being able to read and understand and process what she was reading. For children, small chunks is often more manageable.
