I think sometimes obsessing over the historical jesus is a way to keep a safe distance between us and jesus. You and i will never meet jesus walking in sandals on the dusty hills of galilee. That's inaccessible to us. But that same jesus who walked those roads and was crucified and raised now fills all things everywhere with himself, paul says. And we all have simultaneous access to that risen christ.
