Prosecutors told Trump's attorneys about their client being a target in the probe during their meeting Monday at the DOJ, according to two sources briefed on the meeting. That does not rule out the possibility that Trump's attorney is already understood or they were told Trump was a target prior to the meeting. A DOJ spokesperson declined to comment.
