I noticed that amongst very extreme preachers in the Islamic world, they'll often talk about the beauties of nature and how they want to withdraw into the mountains or into the countryside. I was just thinking, there's a lot of those same tendencies in the Christian tradition too. And Jesus' teaching is that we would be light in the darkness is at the very heart of what community and community is. For me, a part of that is like the way that you put a fire out is by scattering it out. The way that you keep a fire alive is by stoking it. So community for us, I think, is about keeping that fire alive. It's easy to blow out
