The Purpose of the Red Heifer

The sacrifice of the red heifer was meant to cleanse anyone who came into contact with, with death. So you've got the sacrifice outside the camp, you have the fire and then you have all this stuff that is added to the fire while it's being burned. And then once everything's burned up, you take all of these ashes and they, they keep them in a special place outside the camp. If a person becomes richly unclean, some of those ashes are mixed with water and placed upon the unclean person on day three of their uncleanness and then day seven of their ritual uncleanness.
