Smallpox was an incredibly deadly disease in the nineteenth century. Some cities were reluctant to adopt this medicine because they worried that it would spread the disease. The supreme court made a decision that state has every right to mandate of accine in the interest of public health if there is a threat, as long as it is fairly reasonable.
