The President's Right to Keep Records
There's no criminal penalty for violating the Presidential Records Act. The National Archives started trying to work with Trump on this stuff in February of 2021. They pleaded with him to give it back to them. But they were trying to working with him. Trump just didn't want to work with them because he regarded this as his stuff. I am sympathetic to the argument that he's being singled out for prosecution for things that other people have been given a pants on.
