How Radio Promotions Changed My Life
"I always had $10 worth of coordinates. I would just get a pay phone, put in 50 cents and call the next station," he says. "You know, there were no cell phones. There was no GPS." He recalls how his grandfather told him to follow up on radio promotions or face jail time. "'Cause you're gonna end up dead or in jail,' that's what my dad said,'" R&B singer-songwriter adds.
