The Aztecs and the Human Sacrifice
Caroline Dodd: We sometimes are approaching these histories with a legacy that we're not always directly aware of. The Aztec-Mashika people have been about understanding human sacrifice and how you can be a complex compassionate very familiar society while still conducting extreme ritual violence. Fern Riddell: Starting with the understanding that these aren't aliens they're not evil inherently they're people like us but at the same time not like us it's a difficult thing to do though isn't it as a historian to leave your subconscious bias at the door of the archive and walk in without anything.
