The Story of Mao's China Being Isolated From International Science
The book examines the strategies and structures that supported China's scientific outreach during the first decades of the Cold War. It shows how eminent Chinese scientists became interlocutors for the early PRC, particularly through their engagement in a cluster of international organisations and networks. And you focus specifically on CCP-supported scientific diplomacy from the 1940s through the early 1970s. So I'm always thrilled for personal reasons when Canada comes up. That's very exciting to me. We're definitely going to be returning to Nova Scotia and Pugwash in particular later as it features so prominently in the book.
