What Did You Think It Was Going to Be Like in the Eighteenth Century?

i was trained as an eighteenth century historian, and im 'm i'm attracted to a sort of pivotal ideas that emerged in the eighteenth century. A lot of modern thinkers were in the nineteenth century too. And yet it was so much vantos con to follow upon. Ithink what happens is that the eighteenth century creates this new heroic figure, and then builds up a whole kind of mythology around him. Its almost always gendered male, the genius. It's not just a at's interesting to have a look wath the greeks tey look with the romans. These are interesting ideas, but there really is a path which i can absolutely trace back there.
