The Treaty of New Echota is the linchpin to what Cherokees have had to endure over nearly two centuries. The treaty led to the forced removal of Cherokees from their homes in the south to Oklahoma. And it also led to the death of one-fourth of all the Cherokee people. Chief Hoskin asked his people that they've endured and survived so much already.
