When people from Europe first came in the 1600s, their medical practices were crude. They had a lot of theories about medicine and dentistry, but mostly they were just like trial and error. One theory was that worms got into your mouth through food and went into your teeth. And that lasted until the mid 1700s. That's colonial life. I hate it. If they even lived that long.
