The Cabinet of Curiosities

Dr. Webster was charged with Parkman's murder and put on trial. Chief Justice Lemuel Shaw, who happened to be the father-in-law of Moby Dick novelist Herman Melville presided over the case. The jury came to an easy verdict: Dr. Webster was guilty. After the verdict was announced, Webster confessed to having killed Parkman by bashing him in the temple with a piece of wood.
