Do Journalists Tip Off the Police About Events?

I was so angry at the ordeal that Charlotte Lynch went through as a legitimate journalist. The idea of a police officer of five years standing, Joe, not even knowing what a press card is genuinely surprises me. It's definitely something that more officers should be aware of. Journalists in any functioning democracy do not tip off the police about events.
