The Proton Motive Force and Its Mechanism
The origin of life is one of the most counter intuitive ideas in biology. It could suggest that there's a fundamental reason under pinning it, that it had to be this way. And and other ways either don't work as well, or simply, a never got a whole in the first place. Nothing in science works like that, but it would be wonderful if if it could restructure the way we think about these questions.
